STUDENT DAY
The NZES Conference Student Day gives an opportunity for students to meet and participate in workshops related to ecological research and study, and to practise their presentations in an informal, social and friendly environment. In addition, there will be talks and workshops of particular interest conducted by experienced scientists. The day includes a variety of workshops mixed with social breaks. In addition there is an optional BBQ in the evening.
The Student Day is part of the NZES Conference and therefore you must purchase a registration for the conference via the registration page. Student Registration for the conference is discounted ($180 early bird). The optional BBQ costs $10 and is also payable on the registration page. Lunch and afternoon tea are covered as part of your conference fee.
Students are invited and welcome to present their research at the main conference. The New Zealand Ecological Society offers prizes to students for the best oral presentation and the best poster. Two symposia, Biodiversity and production lands: the benefits and the risks and Cultural perspectives on biodiversity research and management are also offering prizes for the best student paper in that symposium (see Programme tab).
The Student Day will be held on the ground floor of University College (UniCol).
